Kunal Kamra is an Indian Stand-up comedian and a social media personality. He is best known for his stand up acts on patriotism and the government in today’s India. Kamra hosts a podcast on YouTube titled “Shut Up Ya Kunal.”

Kamra is a biking enthusiast and owns a Royal Enfield Himalayan motorbike.
Kamra left his college when he was pursuing the second year of his degree and joined MTV as an intern. However, he told his parents about quitting his college after 3 years when he was earning a salary of 35000 INR.
After working as an intern with MTV for around 1 year, he joined Prasoon Pandey’s Corcoise Films as a production assistant. His job duties involved international shoots, producing commercials for popular brands, and conducting high-powered meetings with representatives of big media organizations.
It was his friend, Siddharth Dudeja, who introduced stand-up comedy to Kamra and suggested he try it.
In 2013, when Kunal went to the Blue Frog event to catch up with his friend, Karunesh Talwar, who was working as the headliner of the event, Kunal was asked 2 perform a gig at the stage in order to save the main act which was sinking.
In the same year, Kunal did his first professional stand up comedy show at the Canvas Club in Mumbai.
He earlier resided at a one-bedroom apartment on the first floor of a building in Mumbai’s Shivaji Park, but, in January 2019, his landlady asked him to vacate the place as he had a political edge to his work.
His favorite targets include PM Narendra Modi, Arnab Goswami, and the general right-wing mentality.
According to Kunal, he has received death threats due to his edgy and biting political humor.
He started his career as an open mic-er who used to perform on the sets in between the performances of some famous comedians.
In January 2019, an emotional outburst against a Republic TV report resulted in a flow of trolls and his phone number being shared on the social platforms which forced Kamra to deactivate his Twitter account for a month.
Kunal was never interested in studies and left his college when he was in the second year to do an advertising job. However, he told his parents about this only after 3 years when he used to earn a salary of ₹35000 a month.
